The
offers comfort, low noise and a sprightly performance. Our testing has shown a maximum level speed of over 120 mph, and a continuous cruise of over 100 mph on less than 5000 rpm! With its short field capability, climb rate of about 1000 ft/min. and average fuel consumption of around 11 litre/hr, this aircraft is surely a winner!
The highest hour UK example now has in excess of 1900 hours of flying. There are already over 75 customer built aircraft flying and add this to the 65 factory built aircraft and the teamEurostar is fast becoming a popular choice.
Most first time builders are able to complete the aircraft in around 500-600 hours. Although a few special tools are required (pop riveter, hole saws, nicopress tool etc) no specialist training or skills are needed to complete the build.
External panels of the aircraft are anodised light alloy with the wingtips, wingroot fairings and cowlings made from fibreglass. The tricycle undercarriage consists of a spring noseleg and composite main legs with hydraulic disc brakes on the main wheels. Upholstery is ready made in blue material and includes seats, cockpit interior side panels and baggage compartment. Carpet is included in the cockpit.
The aircraft is powered by the Rotax 912 UL 80 hp engine, fitted with stainless steel exhaust. A VZLU V230 propeller with spinner is standard for the aircraft but a GT 2 blade prop can be fitted instead as a no cost option. Alternatively a 3 blade Kiev or 3 blade Woodcomp prop can be fitted but there is an additional charge for this option. The aircraft is fitted with a 65 litre fuel tank (62 litres useable).
